CBD Oil: Beauty or Beast?
CBD in skincare? Is this even worth it? With the legalization of marijuana, CBD infused products are gaining recognition around the world. Research into the medicinal, cosmetic, and bodily effects is being done at a more rigorous rate. Although we appreciate that the research is being done, what information have we gotten in regard to the benefits it has on beauty? The short answer, CBD oil benefits skin in several ways. I mean, come on, who doesn’t want to look younger and be acne free?
Let’s look at the research…
CBD Oil: treats acne (The Beast)
If you hate acne, put your hands in the air, wave them like you care. Acne people say NO-OH! Acne people say NO-OH!
Oh, sorry. I just got into a whole vibe there and it’s getting’ stronger. Okay, I’ll stop. You want serious information. Here we go.
There are two types of acne; inflammatory and non-inflammatory. If you have, what most of us know, the red swollen blemishes, you have inflammatory acne. Now, there are many different types of inflammatory acne. There is the relatively mild with a few red blemishes. Then there is more serious forms; cystic, nodular, and nodulocystic acne.
CBD research has established that it is effective at treating inflammation. Knowing what we know about CBD, it is not unreasonable to suggest that the use of CBD will help soothe the skin and reduce the appearance of acne breakouts and redness.
Research has also suggested there is a potential of decreasing excess oil production. Data is indicating that this is due to the balancing (homeostasis) effects on the cells.
Scientists have said they need more studies to conclusively confirm these results.
CBD Oil: Use it for Wrinkles and Anti-Aging? (The Beauty)
How many of you see that girl on the beach with the big hat, with no facial expression, covering herself with sunscreen, and think… ME? Apparently, if that is not us, then we have failed our skin. What is causing our wrinkles, age, exposure to UV light, smoking, and repeated facial expression, according to the Mayo clinic?
First, I would like to say I use as many creams, serums, oils, and masks as possible to prevent the wrinkles. Pharmaceuticals, drug store beauty aisle, high-end break the bank boutiques, and dermatologists are all in the arsenal of attacks against ageing on this face. Now I hear that CBD, a plant-based, antioxidant, natural supplement superpower has been available all this time.
Why are you keeping secrets?
The antioxidants in CBD helps lessen the visible signs of ageing. By diminishing the signs of inflammation and neutralizing free-radical damage, CBD can visibly reduce wrinkles, dullness, and skin tone.
CBD: Help the Sensitive! (The Beast is Transformed)
There is a time in everyone’s life that experimenting with new skincare is the thing to do. Learning about the sensitivity of our skin is a process. Are we allergic to certain oils, textures, or chemicals? This is all a process, but what if you have a skin disorder? Can CBD oil benefits skin?
Psoriasis, eczema, inflammatory skin disease, dermatitis, and skin cancer. All of these are different types of skin-related issues that researches are using CBD as a possible treatment.
Not a surprise, CBD stimulates an anti-inflammatory response during labs. One more promising detail is the role CBD plays in the treatment of itching. This study indicates that eight subjects completely eliminate and treat the skin condition in three weeks!
CBD has significant soothing properties! There are skin calming and normalizing effects that help minimize skin sensitivity issues. Our skin is being attacked daily by environmental factors, CBD soothing keeps all of our skin calm.
CBD: The Summary (Beauty vs Beast)
There is the not so beautiful side of the skin, that we all will experience from time to time. Then there is the parts of skincare that we do not necessarily have control over. Or so we think. What to take away from this article, CBD is a reasonable choice in the treatment of skincare related to inflammation. CBD is being tested regularly for its effectiveness in more serious skin-related issues and is doing well in treatment thus far. Researchers are exploring all the amazing benefits CBD has to offer. We have created some incredible CBD infused products to treat problematic skin.
