For many years the image of cannabis users has been a dude lounging around, talking slow, and basking in the glorious bliss that the munchies bring him. This kind of publicity does not encourage people to believe that there are health benefits to CBD oil. Let alone, that CBD may help in weightlessness. So, is it true? You can use CBD for Weight Loss?
Multiple studies have proven that the use of cannabinoid (CBD) correlated with lower body weight and reduced BMI when compared to non-use.
Now the question is… How can CBD oil help me with weight loss?
CBD METABOLIZED… IMPACT ON WEIGHT LOSS
Better body composition, lower BMI, boosting the metabolic rate and combats the symptoms of diabetes. These are all words we love to hear. But from an oil? Is that even possible? Let us take a look at the facts!
Research has suggested that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) function may be the key to better body composition among cannabis users. Endocannabinoids are made by the body to relay messages to cells via receptors. Plant cannabinoids, like hemp oil, act similarly to the endocannabinoids.
Studies show that participants with hyperactive endocannabinoid systems struggle with obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndromes. Research has indicated that the use of hemp oil can normalize the endocannabinoid system and have a positive effect on other systems as well.
Hemp oil plays a significant role in boosting the entire metabolic rate of the body. Your body will be able to perform desired activities in the optimum condition that is a significant step in the weight loss process.
CBD OIL IS A NATURAL APPETITE SUPPRESSANT!
OH YA! Undoubtedly, our favorite words to see in large print, LOW CALORIES, and APPETITE SUPPRESSANT! But wait, cannabis users have the munchies. Their appetite is anything but suppressed. What’s the catch? WE WANT THE FACTS! (sorry, getting a little excited…)
CBD should not be mistaken for THC. THC activates the CB1 receptors, causing a multitude of effects, which include enhanced appetite. Studies have shown that CBD does not activate these receptors like THC but instead, block or deactivate the receptor. Shutting off these receptors will result in curbing the appetite and preventing overeating.
In fact, Hemp oil has a unique nutty flavor that makes it a wonderful substitute oil. It is usable in dips, salads, soups or recipes that use vegetable oil. Hemp oil should not be used as a substitute for frying oils, as it can produce unwanted trans fats and peroxides if cooked above 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
WHAT IS CBD OIL — AKA TINCTURE
Tinctures are liquid extracts made from herbs that you take by mouth. Tinctures are easy and convenient to use. Simply fill the dropper and drip under your tongue. Hold for a few seconds before swallowing. By ingesting under the tongue, they enter the bloodstream much more quickly and directly than by any other means. This means that the action in the body is usually quicker. A standard suggested adult dosage for tinctures is 2 droppersful two to three times a day.
OMEGA-3 AND CBD, WHAT DO THEY HAVE IN COMMON?
Now talk about good publicity! Unlike CBD, Omega-3’s have the support of doctors, the American Heart Association, and many research articles. So, eat your fish! Also, what does that have to do with CBD?
CBD oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, and studies have suggested that it can also be used with similar results in weight loss as fish oil.
The American Heart Association recommends the intake of salmon and sardines because of their high levels of omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are believed to be beneficial in preventing heart disease and can lower triglycerides in the body.
For example, a study in 2007, published in “The Journal of Nutrition” used mice to evaluate the advantages of fish oil in weight loss. In that case, researchers discovered that the consumption of omega-3 fatty acids decreased the amount of weight gain in the mice.
CONVERT THE BAD FAT TO GOOD FAT
Good fat! What good fat?
There are two types of fat, white (or bad) fat and brown fat. Overall, white fat is responsible for the increased risk of diabetes and heart disease. Studies have shown that CBD can convert white fat to brown fat, which improves the body’s calorie-burning processes. Whereas, brown fat cells are more active. They produce heat when burning energy, in turn, the body’s thermogenesis is stimulated and more calories are burned.
CBD AND WEIGHT LOSS
The evidence provided by the many studies conducted weighs heavily towards the health of the endocannabinoid system is vital to the health of the body as a whole. These areas of studies are still very new, but the data shows great promise in the development of new therapies that are successful in those suffering from obesity and diabetes. In conclusion, combined with a healthy nutrition program and a change in lifestyle, hemp oil (CBD) can be a pivotal intervention in obesity and diabetes recovery and management.
