CBD for inflammation

Let’s talk inflammation and CBD. All of us have had the privilege of experiencing the joys that inflammation brings. Firstly, pain can come from a disease or disorder exacerbated by inflammation. However, we are all here to say we feel your pain. Like you, we like to know what is best to use to give CBD FOR INFLAMMATION - HOW IT WORKSus some relief. Pharmaceutical options, with all of their known side effects, are the more common solution.  But, what if I told you there is a natural supplement used to reduce inflammation? CBD is a natural substance that exhibits fewer side effects than its pharmaceutical counterparts.  However, our bodies natural systems work with CBD to give the desired relief from inflammation.

Okay, okay we can’t just make these claims without explanation or “receipts”! Yes, I just used those young kid words. Did I go too far? Now I am feeling weird, wait not weird, extra. Let us just move on…

Why do we get inflammation?

First, let’s start with the types of inflammation; acute inflammation and chronic inflammation.

In this case, acute inflammation is a short-term response to tissue injury, that will show signs within minutes or hours. Signs that you have acute inflammation include pain, redness, immobility, swelling, and heat.

On the other hand, chronic inflammation is long-term, lasting for several months to years. The effects of this vary with the bodies ability to repair the damage. Inflammation for an extended period can damage cells, tissues and even organs.

Proof of this, the common denominator in most chronic conditions in terms of the underlying cause is inflammation. Medical research has revealed the powerful role inflammation plays in these chronic conditions. For instance, many athletes suffer from inflammation.

What causes inflammation?

Inflammation is usually the immune system’s response to infection or injury. For example, this is the body’s way of telling the immune system to begin the healing process.

Also, inflammation is one way the body defends itself from invaders like bacteria and viruses. (Does COVID-19 cause inflammation?) In fact, it is sometimes dangerous if the inflammation goes on for long periods of time in places in the body that it is not needed.

How do you use CBD oil — aka tinctures

CBD FOR INFLAMMATION - HOW IT WORKSTinctures are liquid extracts made from herbs that you take by mouth. Tinctures are easy and convenient to use. Simply fill the dropper and drip under your tongue. Hold for a few seconds before swallowing. By ingesting under the tongue, they enter the bloodstream much more quickly and directly than by any other means. This means that the action in the body is usually quicker. A standard suggested adult dosage for tinctures is 2 droppersful two to three times a day.

Why CBD for inflammation?

Overall, CBD regulates the immune system function.

CBD is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that reduces pain/inflammation. As a result, this information is proven in research time and again. Research shows CBD works with the endocannabinoid system (ECS).  Namely, CBD naturally reduces inflammation by mediating the immune response that is associated with injury, infection, or disease.

To demonstrate, a study in rats (I know animals again? Remember scientists are just now starting to get more funding to research the benefits of CBD for medicinal purposes) found CBD reduced pain around surgical incisions. For instance, CBD reduces pain and inflammation in the sciatic nerve.

Some human studies have shown that the use of CBD was effective in reducing pain and inflammation in arthritis and multiple sclerosis. Likewise, several countries have already approved the use of CBD in the treatment of pain caused by multiple sclerosis.

CBD is a solution to inflammation

CBD has proven many times in scientific research to help mediate the immune system’s response toCBD FOR INFLAMMATION - HOW IT WORKS virus, injury, and infection. We have learned by lowering the amount of inflammation, we lower the amount of pain. Medical research says that chronic inflammation can be harmful or dangerous to your body. Science has proven that CBD was successful in not only treating acute inflammation, it is also successful in treating chronic inflammation. Given the fact that CBD has been endorsed by a number of prestigious universities, it seems a reasonable alternative to the pharmaceutical counterparts.  We recommend starting with a few drops of one of our flavoured tinctures to start and increase as needed.
