If I told you The Benefits of CBD for Athletes stems from CBD Oil Tincture, would you believe me? Without a doubt, the question that comes up most is: how do athletes continue to perform at their best day after day? Beyond their natural ability to kick my butt, what advantage do they have?
Elite athletes know cannabidiol (CBD) can be used for recovery, pain relief, anti-inflammation, and as an alternative to NSAID and opioid pain killers. Simply put, CBD oil helps.
How Does CBD Work with Athletes?
CBD is an athletes’ partner to help maximize their fitness! But wait, cannabis users don’t have a reputation of being the most, um… energetic on the field. I can’t shake the image of the dude with the munchies. Are we on the same page? I am not entering an eating contest. I am not lifting the heaviest Dorito. Stay calm. Let me explain how this works.
Research has determined that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) function may be vital in relieving inflammation and pain. It has been discovered that CBD works to normalize the ECS having a positive effect on the body’s overall function. The ECS can benefit athletes in all sports, but we will focus on three key areas.
Can CBD help athletes recover?
Athletes are always on a journey to discover ways to recover from a training session most
effectively. Inflammation and the resulting pain among athletes is an expected part of their training. Athletes sustain inflammation and pain symptoms from the amount of stress they endure during their fitness routine. At times an athlete will push the body to the point of injury, also causing inflammation and pain. CBD is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that reduces pain/inflammation. CBD will help work with the ECS to reduce inflammation and pain, allowing the athlete to recover faster. The faster recovery provided by CBD is key to performing at your desired level for more extended periods.
CBD Speeds Up Muscle Repair
When athletes train, their muscles are damaged, resulting in inflammation, pain, fatigue, and soreness. After a period of rest, our muscles are allowed to recover and become more reliable than they previously were. This process allows the body to build muscle. Studies have shown that CBD is vibrant in not only anti-inflammatory properties but antioxidants. Experts have learned that the antioxidants in CBD are more potent than those in vitamin C and vitamin D. These properties in CBD allow you to reduce oxidative damage and can significantly speed up the recovery process.
CBD helps with sleep!
AAAHHH! Sleep, where is my pillow! But how can sleep help me as an athlete?
Every athlete and trainer will tell you that sleep is vital to performance and recovery. Sleep deprivation can contribute to long-lasting injury, inflammation, pain, and loss of focus. Often sleep can be disrupted by anxiety or stress. CBD can be used to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, relaxing the athlete, and ensuring sleep that nurtures the body’s ability to recover from inflammation and pain symptoms. Recent studies show that CBD can help combat sleep disorders and restlessness. CBD regulates the sleep-wake cycle and alleviating symptoms that can cause restlessness, such as anxiety, stress, and pain. CBD allows for a more restful sleep experience.
Does mood matter? Can CBD help?
#MOOD I love those memes, but I don’t see how my mood matters.
Athletes are expected to have this supernatural ability to turn off the stressors around their sport and perform. These stressors can be as simple as the need to improve, silently competing with your best self, or feeling the need to play for the audience you think is watching. These stressors can affect the mood of the athlete, making it difficult to concentrate. The use of CBD can reduce
the anxiety that comes with these types of stressors. By decreasing the athlete’s stress, they will be able to concentrate more effectively and therefore perform to the best ability.
As an athlete, the key to better performance is in recovery. The faster you can recover, the more you can train, and the better you can get in your sport. CBD is an excellent partner in improving recovery time, speeding up muscle repair, and allowing you to sleep better, which is vital to performance. Dosing with 1ML 1-3 times daily will aid in closing the gap between you and your athlete heroes.
